Cosmetology is the study and application of beauty treatment. Branches of specialty includes: hair styling, skin care, cosmetics, manicures/pedicures, and electrology.
A cosmetologist is someone who cuts and styles hair. He or she can also offer other services such as coloring, extensions, and straightening. Cosmetologist’s help their clients improve on or acquire a certain look with the right hairstyle. Hair stylists often style hair for weddings, proms, and other special events in addition to routine hairstyling.
Estheticians are licensed professionals who are experts in maintaining and improving healthy skin. An esthetician's general scope of practice is limited to the epidermis (the outer layer of skin).
Estheticians work in many different environments such as salons, med spas, day spas, skin care clinics, and private practice. Estheticians perform skin treatments that include hair removal (waxing, threading, tweezing, sugaring), facial massage, body treatments (wraps, exfoliation, hydrotherapy), skin care consultations, chemical exfoliation, eyelash and eyebrow tinting, eyelash extensions, aromatherapy, and makeup application.
A nail technician specializes in the art form and care of nails, which includes manicures, pedicures, acrylic nails, gel nails, nail wraps, artificial nails, and hand and foot massages. Although nail technicians are generally trained to recognize diseases of the skin and nail, they do not treat diseases and would typically refer a client to a physician. Nail Technicians are also called manicurists and are regulated by their state's cosmetology board.

Yes, we are a NACCAS accredited institution.
The National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences (NACCAS) is an autonomous, independent accrediting commission constituted as a nonprofit Delaware corporation, with its main office located in Alexandria, Virginia. The Commission's origins date back to 1969, when two accrediting agencies in the field merged to form the Cosmetology Accrediting Commission (CAC). CAC changed its name to "NACCAS" in 1981.
NACCAS is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a national agency for the institutional accreditation of post-secondary schools and departments of cosmetology arts and sciences, including specialized schools. It presently accredits approximately 1,500 institutions that serve over 120,000 students. These schools offer over twenty (20) courses and programs of study that fall under NACCAS' scope of accreditation.
Accreditation means that a school has met national standards of educational performance that have been established by an impartial nongovernmental agency. The accrediting of schools by professional, national, and regional associations of like schools (schools with similar objectives and subject content) has long characterized the American educational scene. Through the years, accreditation of schools has been the most authoritative and reliable index of a school's concern for integrity toward its students and quality education.
While an accrediting agency is not part of the government, the U.S. Department of Education has officially recognized several agencies. NACCAS is such a nationally recognized accrediting agency under the provisions of Chapter 33, Title 38, U.S. Code and subsequent legislation.
A school becomes accredited by formal action of the Commission. It bases its action on information submitted by the school and the reports of a specially appointed inspection team that has visited the school and evaluated it according to established standards.
Accreditation does not mean that all schools are the same. It does mean that they conform to a set of common minimum standards established by the Commission. These standards demonstrate a wide range of acceptability. No attempt is made by the Commission to determine relative excellence among accredited schools. Therefore, schools are listed alphabetically by states.
Schools are re-evaluated at least once every six (6) years. Continuation of accreditation depends on maintenance of the established standards. If a school fails to maintain the prescribed requirements, an interval of time is allowed for it to correct its deficiencies. If these deficiencies are not remedied during this interval, accreditation is withdrawn.

Working behind the chair on a daily basis allows you to express your creativity and desire to help people achieve their goal of looking great. If owning your own business and being your own boss is your goal, you can have a salon of your own and help other stylists achieve their goals or lease a station in an existing salon and become an independent stylist.

Cosmetology, which includes Hair, Nails and Skin Care and Teacher Training.
We believe students should be trained using professional products that are being used in the top salons. Students receive hands on training using Paul Mitchel, Aquage and Nioxin products for Hair, OPI and Creative nail products for nails and Pharma gel skin care products. By using these products in the school it allows us to bring in educators provided by these companies to keep our students updated on skills, techniques and product knowledge. It also affords them the opportunity to network with professionals with national connections.
Full Time only.
We are very proud of our graduate's success rate at State Board of Cosmetology exams. Most years we have achieved a 100% pass rate for first time applicants. We provide a class and assist you in properly packing your kit needed to take the exam and then provide a mock board using the exact test information used at the exams. The instructor providing the training has attended an advanced class in preparing students for boards given by DL Roope, the company that administers the exam.
During the course of training, students visit the various salons in the area to get a feel for the type of salon they would like to work in. Area manages and salon owners also visit the school looking for stylists. We also receive calls from area salon owners, many of which graduated from Headmasters looking for graduates to fill openings in their salons. Students also receive training necessary if they wish to open their own salon or lease a station. Headmasters also has an extensive network in the industry that allows us to connect graduates form our school to just about anywhere in the country.
